OUR PASTOR

I am Jon Prater, and I am the Pastor of Mt Zion Church of the Brethren. I have been pastor of Mt Zion since 2010, and things have been growing since then. I have a Degree in Biblical Theology from Liberty University, and as Masters in Theology from Bethany Theological Seminary.

Before coming to Mt Zion I planted a church in a nearby town, and spent a great deal of time working with kids and youth at my home church. Since coming on board at Mt Zion I have also lead various workshops on Church Planting and Church Vitality all over the East Coast. I have also served on a few Boards for our District and our Denomination. Being involved in our local community is very important to me and my family.

My wife, Jessica, and I have six kids Wyatt, Aiden, Elijah, Ethan, Haylee, and Olivia. We are also foster parents, so we often have other kids staying with us and bringing joy to our home. Our family enjoys being outside and enjoying God's creation, fishing, hiking, and playing. When I am not pastoring I love playing music and working on my Fox Body Mustang.

I hope you will come join us soon. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

God Bless.

OUR CHURCH

Our church is group of believers bound togther by the Holy Spirit. We share the common conviction that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and God's only perfect Son. We believe that the Bible is the source of truth in this world, and that all teaching in the Bible is true.

We seek and strive to help each other live like Jesus everyday. We strive to have good, Biblically based teaching, along with passionate worship, and a space that welcomes anyone to come in and feel like family. We have kids activites, youth activites, Bible studies, and more to help the whole famly engage Scripture. We also have an active Deacon body, and many opportunites to help our community.

We are part of the Church of the Brethren, a historic peace church that formed from roots in Anabaptism and Pietism. You can find out more about the Church of the Brethren by visiting www.Brethren.org
